Let me set the scene....
The husband and I are both hanging out in kitchen; he's making dinner (like always) and I am putting dishes away.
Baby is playing her drum set innocently in the living room.
She gets tired of playing beat the drum stick on the drum (and occasionally on her head). She wanders into the kitchen to see what we are doing. She loves being anywhere we are. Including the bathroom....but that's another story.
As I am re-arranging our pots and pans drawer so everything will fit and Dan has turned his back to put something in the fridge, Olivia decides she wants to climb up the stove.
She reaches up her little arms and grabs the stove handle with both hands. Pulls up and puts both feet on the front of the door. Of course the oven door opens and she goes down with it.
She held on the entire time and landed on our very padded mat (thank goodness!) It was seriously like watching in slow motion but I was holding two pans and didn't want to rush over and injure her with those.
She got a little upset - but it was more me yelling, "No, No, No, No!" Although she did bump her forehead on the handle. She came away unscathed!
The drawers in our kitchen are all baby-proofed - I guess I will have to start researching how to baby proof an oven... yikes! She is going to be a trouble maker! Any tips??
My little schiester playing in her chair!
Yikes! I didn't even think about the oven when I was babyproofing!
ReplyDeleteI know! I am nervous for what else she can now get in to....
DeleteHaha, the minute you baby-proof the oven she will get into something else unexpected :)
ReplyDeleteYep! She has already proven that! Why is it that babies can always find the things you don't want them to get into?!
Deleteoh boy! We have knob covers on our stove but they dont fit over the oven knob so Carter can still turn the oven on! But he hasn't tried to open it, yet!!
ReplyDeleteYikes! It's great he isn't too interested in it then!
