In my purse...

I was looking through my purse trying to find my chapstick (which I never did find...) and I thought to myself,
"Self, you have some random crap in your purse. You need to clean it out!"

I have been needing to clean it out - and switch purses for some time now.
It just has never gotten high enough on my to do list I guess!

So without further ado - a list of crap that is currently in my purse (inquiring minds want to know I am sure!)

 Wallet
New unopened toothbrush
Floss
Jump Drive
Pile of Gift Receipts (whoops those were supposed to go on the Christmas Gifts)
Package of almost empty gum
Reminder card for Olivia's 6 Month Appointment... need to get that written on the Calendar
2 Pacifiers
Earbuds
Gym Pass
Burp Cloth
Scarf
Lip Gloss & Face Powder
3 Pens
7 Gum Wrappers ... told you it needed cleaned out!
Top of a baby bottle
A couple business cards
and a load of change

No chapstick to be found......probably in my coat! Again I say, time to clean out the purse!

Silly Girl!

Someone's feeling better!

It's so funny when your pacifier bear is on your head!

If you are wondering what it is - it is a WubbaNub.  A small stuffed animal with a soothie attached to it.  SO AWESOME! This is the only pacifier Olivia will take and they roll all over the place.  With the bear attached, it doesn't roll and it is so much easier to find! Now that she is old enough - she also plays with it! She may be getting an elephant one for Christmas! (and her new cousin will be getting one too)

I am in no way getting paid to talk about these - I just really love them!!! Available to purchase on amazon.com

Our weekend adventure to the ER...

We had quite the adventure Friday night....

Olivia has had a runny nose the past couple days so we thought it was just a cold.  We put her to bed about 8:30 on Friday and she was doing great - we thought she was on the rebound! She woke up about 11 just she started screaming like crazy.  The scariest thing was that I couldn't wake her up.  It took a couple minutes but she finally woke up and continued crying.  Her breathing sounded awful and she had a few coughs.  We decided to take her to the Emergency Room which was a scary little drive!

They saw her right away and the Doctor and Nurse said that she needed a neb treatment.  We did one right away (Olivia was NOT happy with that!) She calmed down and fell asleep.  They did a few other tests - all negative.  Turns out she has Croup - poor baby! They gave her one more neb treatment and a steroid shot to keep the swelling down. When we left the emergency room (about 3:30am) she was breathing so so much better and was sleeping.

She was pretty sleepy and hungry the next day so we gave her extra love and cuddled her all day!

Just seeing her sick and not herself breaks my heart! She is doing much better today and she slept through the night last night! Hope she kicks this sickness soon!

Ornament!

Our first family ornament!

I want to get a new ornament every year.  Not sure if I want to do a family ornament and an individual ornament for Olivia (and any future kids).

If you get a new ornament yearly what do you do?

Sick Baby....

This little girl has gotten herself a cold (I think).  She was up quite a bit last night just not happy.  No fever but she was stuffed up.  When she woke up this morning she had snot running down her face and her breathing sounded awful.  Poor girl - breaks my heart!

She is taking a nap on me know....and we have discovered that she does not like the booger sucky thingy! But if I distract her and make her smile I can sneak it in.

Hopefully she gets better soon!

Cry it out?

Ok so here is the deal.  This adorable little girl takes great naps and goes to bed very easily.  Lately she has been crying out in the middle of the night (multiple times) all while staying asleep.  A couple nights ago - I was up every hour because she was doing this.  I would just pop the pacifier back in and she would be good.

Last night Grandpa was over and he says, "Why don't you just let her cry for a while to see if she will calm herself down".  Well...... she fell asleep and about an hour later she cried out.  Dan went in to just watch what she does but did not touch her or put the pacifier in.  While she is doing this she is really squirmy and is grabbing her feet - but still asleep.  She cried for a minute or two then went back to sleep on her own. WHAT! All this time I have been getting up and she could do it herself!

So last night she cried out 3 times (much less than the night before).  One of those times she was hungry.  The other two times I let her cry for a little bit and by golly she put herself back to sleep.

Thank Goodness!
This mama is starting to feel like a zombie (probably the only time I will EVER refer to zombies in my life!).

Not sure why she is doing this and it is really bugging me that I don't know why. Her next well baby check isn't until February so it will be awhile before I see our Pediatrician.....

Even with a hard night this little girl wakes up smiling which makes you forget the 8 times you were up with her in the night (well kind of!)

Happy Friday!

Look who I get all to myself this weekend!

If we all could see the world through eyes of a child, we would see the magic in everything.

Thursday's Thoughts

Here are my random thoughts for today....

Why do I ALWAYS get toothpaste on my outfit? And why don't I ever see it until halfway through the day?

How is it that before I had a baby I needed at least 8 hours of sleep or I was a wreck...
and now I am living off max 6 interrupted.

Why do I have so many wedding pictures in my house and only a couple pictures of the adorable baby? That will be fixed as soon as I figure out which ones I want!

I guess that is it for now.  I swear I had more rolling around in my head... but I am on my way to pick up the little one and it is all I can remember for now!

4 Month Update

I can't believe that Olivia is already 4 months old! (Pretty sure I will be saying this the rest of my life!)
It is amazing watching her grow and develop.  She rolls from her back to her tummy (but not the other way around).  She gets her legs up under her butt so I think she may be crawling before we know it.  She found her thumb the other day - she has always sucked on her fingers and hands but not her thumb until now! She's laughing (LOVE!) She loves her feet.  She eats her socks.  I am pretty sure one of the best parts of her day is when I let her eat her clothes as I take them off and put her jammers on (she always laughs). We started rice cereal at night and she is eating like a champ. She weighs just over 14 pounds.  She loves looking at the Christmas Tree.
And last but not least, she loves reading with her daddy and snuggling with her mommy!

She is getting so big! Love this baby girl!

Holiday Spirit!

This past weekend we were embracing the Holiday Spirit! (which is amazing for my husband - he usually hates it)
The house is decorated, we saw Santa (and Olivia grabbed his beard to make sure he was real!), and all of our Christmas shopping is done! Yay!

Having a little one around the holidays is seriously awesome.  The past years Christmas has always just been another holiday.  Now I am all excited about Christmas traditions and creating our own with Olivia.

What holiday traditions do you take part in? I want to make sure I am doing all the best stuff!

Yesterday felt like a Monday...

WOW.
Yesterday felt so much like a Monday that I am so thrown off on what today actually is!

Olivia has been doing this weird thing at night which has lead to less sleep for mom and dad.  Every 2ish or so hours she will randomly cry - but will still be asleep.  So we go check on her and she is still sleeping but usually has her feet in the air and needs her pacifier.  Not sure if it is gas, teething or growing pains, or nightmares (not sure if they have those at this age?).  I am leaning towards the gas or teething pain.  She has been drooling like a St. Bernard. Hopefully this ends soon because this mama needs some better sleep!

Now for some pictures!

Shots, shots, shots, shots, shots!

Ok, who just sang that in their head? (I did!)

Baby girl went in for her 4 month check up.  She is doing great! Weighing in at 14.1 pounds (85th percentile).  I can't remember how long she is but she is in the 95% and her head size is in the 70th percentile.  She did so good for the doctor... then came the shots and she only cried for a minute - such a trooper! After her appointment I went to the scheduling desk and she was super smiley like normal.  The scheduler said 'Well, she must not have gotten shots... oh wait yes she did!" She thought it was amazing how happy she was after getting her shots.

After shots we went home and put up our Christmas Tree! (Pictures to come) Dan actually was the one to suggest it (he absolutly hates decorating so this surprised me). I think the catch was that we had to listen to Mariah Carey's Christmas CD while decorating.  He loves Mariah Carey and her Christmas CD which is funny because he hates most all Christmas music.

Now I need to get going on buying this little girl some Christmas presents!

Thanksgiving!

I took a TON of pictures this Thanksgiving (Olivia's 1st!) but..... they are all on my camera just waiting to be taken off - so instead here are a couple of photos some of my family members had taken!

Olivia hanging out on the table (after playing 'pass the baby' with the relatives)
She is allowed on the table until she is two per her Great Grandma!

It was so nice out that we went for a walk!

We had a great weekend - and hope you did too!

Oh yeah and in case you were wondering there are only 28 days until Christmas! Better get to shopping....

3 Month Picture Sneak

Last weekend Olivia and I went to get her 3 month photos taken (which happened closer to 4 months! Whoops!) Daddy was hunting so it was just the two of us!

We got our photos taken by Christy Bode Photography (she did my maternity and Olivia's newborn photos).  She is just awesome! I can't wait to see the rest!

Hat purchased on Etsy - Crochetjandra (I also have matching purple booties - so cute!)

If you really knew me...

I've seen this fun post floating around so I thought I'd give it a try.

If you really knew me... you would know that I'm very shy.  And I have a hard time making new friends.  But my heart is big and I have so much love and compassion.  I find it hard to express myself.

You'd know that when I get around too big of a crowd of people I freeze and don't know what to do. I am the person that can stay inside and not see a single person all weekend and not go stir crazy. It's not so bad that I don't like hanging out with people - I do!

You'd know that I am the most indecisive person on the planet. Whether a big decision like career path or a small decision like where to go to eat...either way, I constantly change my mind.

You'd know that I have mastered and given 100% to every single job I have ever had yet have no idea what I want to do, which makes looking for a new job a little hard.

When I was a little girl I would get anxiety when I thought about what I wanted to be when I grew up because I didn't have an answer for it.  To this day - I still do not know what I want to be and it still makes me anxious to think about it.

Becoming a mom has filled a hole in me that I didn't know was empty. When I think of my baby girl, all anxiety and worry fly out the window.

I am one of those parents that think their child is absolutely perfect (because she is) and I doubt (and hope) that will ever change.

You'd know that I one day hope to write a book. I don't know what it will be about - but I have had dreams about it.  I haven't ever told anyone about it.

My husband doesn't know that I have a blog. (Is this weird?) I am not sure why either, he has encouraged me to start one in the past.

You'd know, that I'm still learning to really know me too.

Rollin, Rollin, Rollin

Thought I would take a quick video of the baby girl rolling away!

So awesome!

Wondering...

I often find myself wondering what Olivia’s life will be like.

What will her first words be?
Will she be a mommy's girl or a daddy's girl?
Is she going to be easy going like her mom or super active like her dad?
Will she like school?
What will her favorite subject be?
What sports will she like best?
Will she like sports at all?
What’s she going to be when she grows up?
Who will she marry?
How many kids will she have?

It’s crazy to look at that sweet, little girl and think, “She’s going to be a mommy someday”.  Absolutely. Crazy.

It's Official!

This little girl is rolling over!

She rolls from her back to her tummy.  She hasn't rolled from her tummy to her back yet (on purpose anyway). She spent a good 20 minutes on Sunday working at it until she finally did it! Then after that - she had it down.  Daycare says she is rolling like crazy now!
I think it is funny because once she gets to her belly, she hangs out for a while then realizes that she is doing tummy time again - but can't roll back.

It is just amazing watching her grow and develop!

3 Month Update!

Olivia is seriously growing like a weed! I can't believe she is 3 months old!

She is so awesome.
She smiles all the time.
We are starting to get more laughs out of her which is AMAZING! There is nothing better then baby laughs.
She is super close to rolling over.
She loves blowing spit bubbles and making noises.
Holding hands calms her down (so cute).
She LOVES clocks! She will find and stare at them forever.
She also loves watching TV.... which we don't let her do (but she really tries!)
She is a toot machine!
She is officially in size 6 month clothes - especially pj's (she is just too long!)
She is super smiley in the morning after I wake her up - what a great thing to look forward to in the morning!

Overall - I love her.  I love being a mom.  Best. Thing. Ever.

Halloween!

We had such a fun Halloween this year! Probably the best one yet.

Crazy how it has changed in the last few years....before we would get all dressed up and go out to the bar with friends...this year we got Olivia all dressed up and took her around to our friends houses.

It is true what they say. Kids do change your life.  For the better.  I can't imagine living without her - she is amazing and motherhood is fantastic.

This is what she wore to daycare!

 Banana!
I just love her and can't wait until next Halloween!

DIY Sock Snowmen

This is another project I did for the craft fair I went to a couple weekends ago.
Sock Snowmen!

I made some of these last year and they were a hit - everyone loved them!

DIY Snowman Decor

I know it is kind of early for Christmas stuff - but my work had a 'crafty' fair that
I went to so I needed to make some stuff!

I saw this idea on Pinterest and decided to re-create!

Here are the supplies:
Muffin Tin - 6 count (2.99 at Walmart)
Spray Paint
Regular Paint
Paint Pen
Ribbon
Hot Glue Gun (Not Pictured)

Step 1: Spray Paint the muffin tins red

Step 2: Get your white paint out and paint the circles white!

Step 3: Decorate! I hot glued the nose shape and painted orange over top.  The eyes and mouth are just painted on with black paint.  The rosy red checks are sponged on with a circle sponge.  I used the paint pen to write "Let it Snow" and to draw little snowflakes all over.  Then I watered down some white paint, dipped a paint brush and shook it over the entire thing to make it look like snow!

Step 4: Add a ribbon and you are set! Such a fun decoration for the holidays!

Fall Fun!

This weekend was amazingly nice out so we did some outside work and Olivia got to enjoy some outside time!

While we were out - I couldn't pass up taking her picture with the awesome yellow leaves that were falling from the tree in front of our house.  It is the only tree that still has leaves!

Really? Who does that?

So woke up this morning and noticed that there was a pumpkin in the street right by our house.  So I meander over to clean it up off the street and notice that it is our pumpkin!

We had three little pumpkins that the in-laws grew in their garden and a bigger one that we were going to carve for Olivia.

So I take a glance up at the door steps where they are and someone had decided to smash our two big pumpkins all over our front steps.

REALLY? Even when I was younger we never did that, and we did some questionable things.  What makes a person think that smashing other people's pumpkins is ok?

I am glad that Olivia is just a small tatertot and doesn't care.  I can imagine as they get older and they have their own pumpkin and if it got smashed they would be upset. I know I would be.

Moral of the story.....don't smash other people's pumpkins.  Not cool.

Back at it...

I am officially back to work which is super sad but at the same time it is good (if that makes sense at all...)
I hate leaving my little peanut at daycare - I would much rather be the one receiving all her baby smiles all day.  Nope, our awesome daycare lady gets them all!  So back to work.... it's like riding a bike.  Seriously! It feels like I never even left which is pretty weird.

My workload isn't completely full yet so I have been browsing pinterest (of course!)

Ok - I know it is only the middle of October but I keep finding myself checking out Christmas stuff! WHAT!? I think with a little one in our family I just can't wait and want to make it super special.  AND I am excited to take some pictures of her for our holiday card - with ideas I found off of pinterest.
