My baby girl has had quite the week....
It started out last week about this time with a trip to Urgent Care - Ear Infection.
We have her on a ten day antibiotic so all is well until...she gets a fever that will not go away for 3 days! She was cutting her second molar so that may have been the culprit. Seriously though! Poor girl!
Then she went to bed on Monday night and did some weird coughing. Tuesday morning it sounded much worse so we took her back to Urgent Care (which we just called not-so-urgent care as it took an hour and a half to get in). Turns out baby girl has Croup.
We now have her on a steroid medicine that she has to take for three days. Today she seems much better so hopefully she is on the mend!
I can't stand when she is sick - it makes my heart hurt.

Taking it all in...
Tonight while putting the baby to bed I had one of those moments I just want to bottle up and save forever.
While rocking her to sleep she all of a sudden sat up gave me a huge smile and put her forehead on mine. I proceeded to give her Eskimo kisses (touching noses). She would giggle and lean in for more.
Usually I would try to get her to go back to sleep so she wouldn't get wound up again, but tonight I enjoyed her giggles and our moment.
A few minutes later she snuggled back in fell asleep. I held her extra long tonight after she fell asleep.
She may be getting bigger, but she will always be my little baby.

Our Pet Turtle...
Olivia got a pull behind turtle thing for her birthday...and she loves taking it for walks!
It may be the closest thing we have for a pet for a long time! (until she talks her daddy into getting her a puppy!)

She's not the cleanest eater folks!
I am home with Olivia today - turns out she has an infection in her eye. I got to experience putting eye drops in for the first time. Aren't those just a treat! Don't worry though, I get to practice every three hours! Get better little girl!
Thought I would post some fun pictures of Olivia enjoying her dinner from a couple days ago...
She is such a good and happy eater!

My accident prone girl....
This little girl decided to take a digger on the stairs at daycare yesterday.... and has this beautiful rug-burned eye to show for it!
I am afraid she might be taking after her daddy who got into everything and was always bruised up!
Anyway - here is her "tough" face! So cute!

Swimming Party!
We got a tiny pool for the baby to play in since it is finally summer!
We brought it outside, filled it up and threw her in! She wasn't the biggest fan right away (probably should have eased her in) but she warmed up and had a great time!
She always did great at the pool for swimming lessons so I am glad she also likes this. Now if only the lake water would warm up!

As soon as I saw you....
Precious little girl,
It is hard to remember what my life was like without you, and I don't want to.
You make my life whole.
You are my heart.
You are my smile.
You are my everything.
Don't change a thing! Keep being that funny, curious, active little girl that you are.
Love you always,
Your mama

On Irrational Fears
I don't know why, but sometimes I just have these crazy fears and thoughts about Olivia.
It happened more often when she was a little younger but it still happens every now and then.
I will be taking her out of her car seat in the garage and my mind instantly flashes to what could go wrong. I.e. she would wiggle out of my arms and fall on the cement floor cracking her head open.
Or I will be worried about if she will somehow get out of her crib, out her door and will fall down the stairs because I didn't close the gate before I went to bed.
Or how I will never get a video monitor because I am too afraid that I will see someone in the room with my baby (this one may be fueled by Criminal Minds and SVU).
I have seen a decrease in those types of fears, thank goodness. Not sure if it is just a first time mom thing or if it is totally normal. I know the root may be the fear of losing her in general. She is my whole world and even imagining losing her breaks my heart.
It's weird I know and I keep telling myself it is totally normal!
Now, here are a few photos her dad snapped while they were at a softball game yesterday!

10 Month Update!
My little girl is 10 months old! Holy Crap! That flew by!
Here are some 10 month stats:
* She weighs a good 20 pounds is wearing 18 month shirts (12 month are just way too short!) and 12 month pants. We may be graduating up a size in jammers too! The girl is LONG!
* She is standing on her own and will stand for quite a while before losing her balance!
* She has two very sharp teeth! And I am pretty sure the only person she bites is me... she will grab my finger and shove it in her mouth, but she doesn't do it to daddy.
* Her hair is finally long enough on the top to put it in the cutest ponytail ever! So adorable!
* She still thinks her daddy is hilarious, which he loves! (and I love watching the two together!)
* She is still a very good eater. I think she has started weening herself off the bottle. She drinks her milk in sippy cups at daycare and hardly takes a bottle at home. I guess it is good that she never got super attached to the bottle, easier to take away!
Overall, she is a FANTASTIC baby. Sleeps well, loves playing, can entertain herself, so happy. We couldn't ask for more......
WELL maybe she could sit a little more still for pictures! It would make my life easier!
Here are some outtakes! The girl is all over the place!

Who remembers Reading Rainbow?
At our house we love reading!
It is amazing to see the progression from when Olivia was a little baby and how she is now when we read with her. When we read now she studies every page, really looks at the pictures, points to the animals when I ask where they are, and turns the pages for me.
I just love watching her learn and grow - it is SO AMAZING!
Also - I may just be a book hoarder! I love kids books and get very board with the ones we have!

Growing...
I seriously think my baby is going through a major growth spurt!
The past three nights she has had three bottles! One right before bed (normal), one about 5 hours later (not normal), and one in the morning about 5am (normal). She does really good, eats her bottle then goes back to sleep. Those are the only times she is up.
Hopefully she doesn't grow too much! I just bought new summer clothes!
She is still a really good eater! We are so lucky!

9 Month Update!
Olivia is 9 months old!
It is hard to believe how much she has grown in the past 9 months. She was so tiny!
She is still standing up on everything and is quite daring when it comes to just letting go and standing there!
She loves 'beeping' people's noses, clapping, waving, getting tickled and not sitting still when getting her diaper changed! She is definitely on the move all the time!
She has TWO teeth! Both on the bottom and they are pretty darn sharp.
She can do "So Big!" and claps her hands afterward - the cutest thing ever!
She can still be a snuggle bug if she is in the mood - but when she is not... watch out! When she doesn't want to be held she will let you know!
She is still eating very well - mostly baby food with real food mixed in. Loves apples and cheerios and lunch meat and well pretty much everything!
Love this little girl so much! She is such a blessing!

Playing in the Grass
We played outside in the grass for this first time!
Olivia thought it was interesting to say the least. She was wearing capris and did not like the feel of the grass on her legs at all! She was ok when she was standing up though!
We are loving the warm(er) weather! She loves going on walks in the stroller - looking at the trees, birds, cars, people.... pretty much everything!
She had officially had enough at this point!

The best age is.......
Can you believe that it is already the end of April? The past 9 months have gone SO quickly!
Every different age I can't help but think.... This has got to be the best age ever!
When she was an newborn - I loved every single minute. How tiny she was, how she was mine, the bond with breastfeeding, how she grasped my finger and slept on my chest.
When she was a couple months old - watching her take everything in, her first smiles and giggles, learning to move!
When she was six months old - watching her explore new foods, crawling, really playing and having favorite toys, learning her ticklish spots and getting those giant laughs from her!
And now, almost 9 months old - watching her zoom up the stairs like she has been doing it all her life, big hugs and wet kisses, listening to her 'talk', how she yells at me when I don't get her her water fast enough, how she points at everything now, her giant smile every time she sees me, how she loves every single picture of herself.
I could go on and on. This little girl has my whole heart and I really never knew what that felt like until she came along. She is so inquisitive, loving, happy and playful. I love the crap out of this baby.
When we talk of future kids my husband has said that he just doesn't know if we should have anymore. We had always planned on it but his new reasoning is that he doesn't think that he could love another child as much as he loves Olivia. I know we are both first time parents and every parent must feel this, but I kind of feel the same way right now! I know that we will be able to love another child just as much and I keep telling him that. We don't need to worry about it right now, we have time.
I am just so happy that we got this happy little girl. She is my world.
