13, 14 & 15 Month Update!

I can't believe my little girl (girl - not baby!) is 15 months old!

I feel like we just had her birthday party.  It's amazing how many things have changed in the last three months.
* She has way more hair - Pigtails, yes please!
* She has 9 teeth! Top 4, Bottom 4 & one of her first molars on the top - with the other three really close to popping through.
* She has her own preferences and likes.  Especially when we are reading books.  She wants to pick out which ones she wants you to read.  Even if that means reading 'If You Give A Dog a Doughnut' 17 times.
* She has gotten into a GREAT sleeping routine.  We read and drink our milk, then rock for a few minutes to calm down, then I lay her in her crib awake and leave the room.  Here is the kicker - she goes to sleep all by herself! I thought I would miss rocking her to sleep - and I do, but I do love the extra time.
* She loves playing Ring Around the Rosey and always falls down way before she is supposed to.
* We have her in swimming lessons again and she is just a little fish - LOVES the water!
* She runs everywhere... which is adorable because her little legs go all over the place so she falls over a lot.
* She loves animals! She used to be afraid of dogs but lately she can't get enough of them.  She still loves birds and cats and enjoys going to see the animals and fish at Cabella's.
* She is a great eater.  Some of her favorite foods are: cottage cheese, tomatoes, FRUIT, mac & cheese, chili, crepes, pancakes, pasta - pretty much everything except veggies.  She really only likes peas, not a whole lot else.  She loves dipping things, her hamburger in ketchup and her pancakes in syrup.
* She can say a few words now - her vocabulary is growing by the week! Some words she can say are: owl, hot, hi, mama, dada, and apple.  I am sure there are more that we just don't understand yet!

She is just a joy, so happy all the time.  She has the best facial expressions and her laugh is so contagious.  She is truly a blessing.  Love that little girl!

12 Month Update!

This little girl turns ONE year old on Saturday!

WOW did that year go by fast! I can't believe how much she has grown! Here is a side-by-side comparison from 1 month to 12 months!

Here are some of her 12 month stats!

* Much smoother walker - even gets to running sometimes (not intentionally of course!)
* LOVES blueberries and mandarin oranges.  She is such a great eater!
* If you ask her where her hands or feet are she will show you and she loves clapping along to songs (ie: If your happy and you know it)
* She started doing this thing where if she is around someone she doesn't know she will play shy and put her head on my chest while I am holding her.  Can't say I don't love the extra snuggles!
* She is weighing in at 22 pounds - but I think she is getting thinner and losing some of that cute baby fat.
* She still only has 2 teeth (on the bottom) I can see and feel the 'fangs'.  They are getting darn close to coming through.  We may have a little vampire baby for her birthday!

She is amazing, she loves playing, she loves her mama and daddy, and she is pretty much sleeping through the night every night. 

We have had such a fantastic year and are so amazed with how much love and joy this little girl has brought into our lives!

11 Month Update!

Olivia turned 11 months old about 2 weeks ago - and here is the update finally!

Last month was a big one for little Olivia!

She started standing for longer periods of time and started standing up from nothing (instead of using the edge of the couch or table). 

She loves playing the game "chase" where Mommy or Daddy crawl around and try to get her!

She started walking!

She started talking more.... saying DaDa, MaMa and a bunch of other sounds which are equally adorable!

Can point things out (literally, she loves pointing!)  If you ask her where the fan or light is, she will look and point.

Is over eating any sort of baby food.  New favorite foods include: Avocado, Tomatoes, Lunch Meat, Hot Dogs, Chicken, Pizza and any sort of Fruit. She does well with veggies also which is great. Her new favorite game is feed Mommy or Daddy (whoever is feeding her at the time).  She will grab a green bean off her tray and offer it to us. Depending on what it is and how smashed it is I will sometimes eat it - kind of gross but she loves it!

She is weighing in at a cool 22 pounds and is wearing some 12 month clothes - but is mainly in 18 month now. 

She is such a joy.  I love watching her grow - it is seriously the best!

10 Month Update!

My little girl is 10 months old! Holy Crap! That flew by!

Here are some 10 month stats:

* She weighs a good 20 pounds is wearing 18 month shirts (12 month are just way too short!) and 12 month pants.  We may be graduating up a size in jammers too! The girl is LONG!

* She is standing on her own and will stand for quite a while before losing her balance!

* She has two very sharp teeth! And I am pretty sure the only person she bites is me... she will grab my finger and shove it in her mouth, but she doesn't do it to daddy.

* Her hair is finally long enough on the top to put it in the cutest ponytail ever! So adorable!

* She still thinks her daddy is hilarious, which he loves! (and I love watching the two together!)

* She is still a very good eater.  I think she has started weening herself off the bottle.  She drinks her milk in sippy cups at daycare and hardly takes a bottle at home.  I guess it is good that she never got super attached to the bottle, easier to take away!

Overall, she is a FANTASTIC baby.  Sleeps well, loves playing, can entertain herself, so happy.  We couldn't ask for more......

WELL maybe she could sit a little more still for pictures! It would make my life easier!

9 Month Update!

Olivia is 9 months old!

 

It is hard to believe how much she has grown in the past 9 months.  She was so tiny!

At 9 months old she weighs 19.6 pounds and is in the 76 percentile for her height.  She is (and has been) in her big girl car seat and LOVES it! She can see out the windows and has so much more room. 

She is still standing up on everything and is quite daring when it comes to just letting go and standing there!

She loves 'beeping' people's noses, clapping, waving, getting tickled and not sitting still when getting her diaper changed! She is definitely on the move all the time!

She has TWO teeth! Both on the bottom and they are pretty darn sharp.

She can do "So Big!" and claps her hands afterward - the cutest thing ever!

She can still be a snuggle bug if she is in the mood - but when she is not... watch out! When she doesn't want to be held she will let you know!

She is still eating very well - mostly baby food with real food mixed in.  Loves apples and cheerios and lunch meat and well pretty much everything!

Love this little girl so much! She is such a blessing!

8 Month Update!

Olivia turned 8 months old a few days ago and there's something about that age which seems much too close to 1 than I care to admit.

Olivia's demeanor is still sweet as sweet can be. People always say she's just the happiest little baby and she really is.  She has just started getting a little clingy around strangers (and by strangers I mean anyone besides her daddy, mommy or daycare provider!) She just needs a little time with them and then she is good to go!

She loves food. I love that she loves food because it makes feeding her SO easy. She loves Little Crunchies - probably because they taste like Cheetos. She loves the Mixed Berry Yogurt Melts.  She loves lunch meat.  We are just starting to feed her more of what we are eating.  She had some mac and cheese yesterday! She does pretty well for not really having any teeth!

Speaking of teeth, one of her bottom teeth has poked through! I think the second one must be on the way as well. She is doing pretty well with teething, not too cranky at all.  Dan is hoping that one morning she will just wake up with a whole mouth full of teeth so she only has to go through the pain once! Not me, I want those super cute bottom teeth only pictures!

She still waves. She crawls, pretty darn fast. She stands up on everything. She can go up the stairs (with me behind her of course) - and when she does she is so determined and quick! She licks everything.  She loves reading.  She laughs when I do the stupidest things, which makes me do it even more.  She makes that ridiculously cute sound when they pull their fingers to their lips and 'b-b-b-blub' (what the heck do you call that?!??!). Its my favorite thing. It makes me laugh every time.

We are blessed to be your parents, because girl, you bring us so much joy & laughter.

7 Month Update!

My little girl is 7 months already.  What.The.Heck.  This is not possible! She was just born!

7 Things About 7 Months: 

1.  She is officially a crawler! Into everything - goes everywhere.  We are going to have our hands full.  When she gets focused on one thing - you cannot change her mind about it!

2. She LOVES eating! Not so much her bottle but food and puffs she loves! She also loves drinking a little water our of her sippy cup.

3. She thinks her mom and dad are hilarious! Maybe it's all the jumping around we do with silly faces just to make her laugh.  I sometimes wonder what someone looking in from the street would think that I am doing (since they probably wouldn't be able to see the baby!)

4. She is SO squirmy when I am changing her diaper.  I always have to give her like 3 things to grab just so I can get the diaper on otherwise she is trying to flip over and play!

5.  She loves looking at herself in the mirror and in pictures.  I have a picture of her for the background of my phone and every time I show it to her she smiles and laughs.

6.  Not sure what it is about phones and remote controls (and my water bottle) but she likes them more then her fun toys!

7.  She gives the best kisses and hugs.  She gets pretty cuddly after a nap.  She loves when I shake my ponytail in her face and when I blow on her hair.  All around, she thinks I am pretty darn funny (which is true!).

6 Month Update!

Olivia is halfway to her birthday! I can't believe it!

6 things about 6 months:

1.  Olivia is really moving! Not quite crawling forward yet but she barrel roles all over the place and scoots backwards.  Seriously, I put her in one spot and turn around and she is across the room.  We are going to be in trouble when she does start crawling - which I think will be soon! She is doing this thing where she has her but in the air - like the downward dog yoga pose.  So cute!

2.  She sits and plays so well.   She loves taking things out of her bucket and spilling them all over the floor.  Pretty much everything goes in her mouth! She loves toys that play music!

3.  She still has zero teeth, but is working really hard on getting them! Right now she seems to like her teether toys that are chilled in the fridge.
4.  She is a FANTASTIC eater! She loves everything and has increased the amounts that she eats.  We started playing with Puffs.  She has put a couple in her mouth - but really likes when I just put them in there for her!

5.  She has been sleeping really well.  She goes down great and usually sleeps until about 4:30am.  We have been feeding her then even though I don't think she really needs it.  We are planning on weening her off that but she has been sick and teething so I didn't want to start that on top of it.  She is over her cold now though so we will be starting that soon!
6.  She is the happiest baby! She loves jumping and moving.  She is ticklish.  She laughs when I kiss behind her knees.  She thinks my ponytail is super funny.  I love when she gives me kisses back!

Love this little girl.  I can't believe how fast she is growing! Love my life!

5 Month Update!

My baby girl is getting so big! The past 5 months have just FLOWN by - I can hardly believe it!

Here are 5 things about 5 months!

1.  Olivia is sitting on her own so well! She loves just sitting and playing.  She will sit and bend over to reach for a toy and bring herself back upright.

2.  She is still rolling over from her back to her front only. She has rolled accidentally a few times from her front to her back - she is trying really hard I think she will be doing it soon!  When she is on her tummy she is either pushing her whole body up or doing the superman with her arms and legs back and her head up!  She has starting getting up on her hands and knees and starts rocking back and forth.  A couple times she has pushed herself forward but most of the time she is scooting backwards.  She can move!

3.  We started her on baby food! She has been eating baby oatmeal which she likes and eats really well.  The other day we started her on sweet potatoes.  She had a confused look on her face for the first bite but after that - she looked like she really enjoyed it! She ate everything I gave her!

4.  Everything (and I mean everything!) goes straight in her mouth! The other day I had a cookie in my hand which she grabbed away from me and she stuck it in her mouth like she knew what she was doing! My little cookie monster! She grabs for everything and is great at picking up her toys and transferring them between her little hands.

5.  My most favorite thing right now is waking her up in the morning.  She usually likes to sleep in until about 8 but during the week I have to get her off to Daycare at 7 so we wake up about 6:30.  It is so hard for her to wake up  - she stretches and keeps her eyes closed for so long while I am getting her ready.  My favorite thing is while she is waking up, and still has her eyes closed, I give her kisses on her cheeks and on her belly and she smiles every time! It is so cute - then when she wakes up and opens her eyes she has the biggest smiles for me! Love her!

4 Month Update

I can't believe that Olivia is already 4 months old! (Pretty sure I will be saying this the rest of my life!)
It is amazing watching her grow and develop.  She rolls from her back to her tummy (but not the other way around).  She gets her legs up under her butt so I think she may be crawling before we know it.  She found her thumb the other day - she has always sucked on her fingers and hands but not her thumb until now! She's laughing (LOVE!) She loves her feet.  She eats her socks.  I am pretty sure one of the best parts of her day is when I let her eat her clothes as I take them off and put her jammers on (she always laughs). We started rice cereal at night and she is eating like a champ. She weighs just over 14 pounds.  She loves looking at the Christmas Tree.
And last but not least, she loves reading with her daddy and snuggling with her mommy!

She is getting so big! Love this baby girl!

3 Month Update!

Olivia is seriously growing like a weed! I can't believe she is 3 months old!

She is so awesome.
She smiles all the time.
We are starting to get more laughs out of her which is AMAZING! There is nothing better then baby laughs.
She is super close to rolling over.
She loves blowing spit bubbles and making noises.
Holding hands calms her down (so cute).
She LOVES clocks! She will find and stare at them forever.
She also loves watching TV.... which we don't let her do (but she really tries!)
She is a toot machine!
She is officially in size 6 month clothes - especially pj's (she is just too long!)
She is super smiley in the morning after I wake her up - what a great thing to look forward to in the morning!

Overall - I love her.  I love being a mom.  Best. Thing. Ever.

2 Month Update

I can't believe my little pumpkin head is already 2 months old! It is really amazing how fast this is going compared to how slowly the weeks went when I was pregnant.

Anyway.... here is our 2 month update!

Olivia is really smiling now! Before we really had to work at getting her to smile and now she is doing it all the time.  She is especially smiley in the mornings!

She LOVES sitting up and being upright.  She has been hanging out in her Bumbo and is improving significantly.  It is crazy how just a week ago she was still pretty wobbly and now she is much better!

She rolled over for the first time a couple days ago! From her tummy to her back - and she did it twice.  I was on the floor looking through the camera viewfinder and all of a sudden there she goes! I was so surprised that I didn't even take a picture.  I set her back up on her stomach and she did it again (this time I got the action shots!).

I packed up some of the clothes she no longer fits into (sad).  I have a huge tub that I have been putting clothes into and it is about half way full now.  But in other news I organized her drawers and clothes so she is all set for fall!

We are working on getting a schedule down so we aren't so crazy when we go to daycare.  So far it has been going pretty well.

Other than that she has been sleeping great - she goes 4-5 hour chunks at night so I am only waking up with her once.  She rarely cries.  She loves her Mommy and Daddy and we love her!

Seriously.... being a mommy is the best thing in the world.

One Month Update

My baby girl is one month old already...

 

And she fits into the outfit I made her when I was pregnant.  See tutorial here.  I must say - it is much cuter on!

She has gained just over 2 pounds since birth and has grown sooo much.  She is definitely filling out and is getting some adorable baby rolls (Micheline Arms!). She is just starting to take an interest in toys (rattle) when I shake them for her.  She has been sleeping in her own room since 2 weeks old and sleeping fabulously.  She is losing some hair - mostly on the top of her head so we will see if she loses it all or not.
