Settle Down Mom...
Miss Olivia Mae had her 6 month doctor's appointment the other day and she is doing awesome! She is in the 68-80% for height, weight and head size!
The doctor confirmed that she was doing what she was supposed to and then she asked if she had been 'talking' at all. She hadn't made a noise the entire time we were there (except when she got that second shot - then she screamed!). When her Dad and I thought back she really hadn't been talking as much as she did a while ago.
So of course as soon as the doctor leaves, we discuss. "Do you think something is wrong with her?" "Why hasn't she been talking?" "Do you think it has something to do with her hearing?" (she didn't pass her newborn screening - but did pass with the specialist appointment).
Worry ensues.
Olivia to the rescue!
Seriously, the next day and every day since then she is talking and making cute little noises. It's like she knew we were worried and decided "Don't worry I've got this!".
Love that little girl!

Learning...
I got all the tools to learn how to crochet! I even tried last night - I think I did a double row (not the right language at all, I know!) After that I got super confused because it was hard to see my stitches. Maybe a different color yarn is in order? Any suggestions?
I will have to watch some YouTube videos to figure this out!

Dear Grandpa...
I am sorry I never got to come visit you before you went to heaven. I am so glad you are no longer in pain. They say in heaven the blind can now see. I hope you are taking in everything you haven't been able to see for so long. Be sure to watch over Grandma, she needs to feel your presence. Please know that we all miss you very much. We will think of you often and tell your stories to our little ones. Rest in Peace Grandpa. We love you.

30 Day Challenge
I was perusing Pinterest a week or so ago and found a link to this 30 day challenge.
I thought to myself...maybe this would get me out of my workout rut.
I have been doing this for a week and Holy Crap! I am so sore, my legs and arms feel like they are going to fall off!
They are quick, high intense workouts. So far - I am loving it AND actually sticking to it!
Hopefully I can make it the full 30 days!

How did I get so lucky?
Spent the weekend with my loves! All I could think about after we put the baby to sleep and I got to relax and have a beer with my husband was.... How did I get so lucky? Makes my heart tingle just thinking about it!
We have been feeding the little girl baby food for a while now.
Loves: Sweet Potatoes, Squash, Carrots, Apples
Likes: Peaches
Hates: Bananas
More to come! We are going to keep working on the bananas (because we have like 8 containers of them that were given to us). And we have new flavors to try. It is so funny watching her try new foods. She doesn't really make weird faces at all. It is more like she is thinking - Oh that is different! Except the bananas. That is the only one she will shut her mouth for!

Uhhh....Working Out.
So ever since having the baby and going back to work I have been hitting the gym after work - 4 days a week. Yay me!
Today I learned that if you don't drink nearly enough water during the day - Holy Crap do you get the largest side stitch you have ever had.
Lesson learned. Drink. More. Water.
Right now I am about 5 pounds down from my start weight when I got pregnant. This is great - but man I don't feel like it at all. It is true what they say about just not feeling the same body-wise after baby.
I stumbled upon some workout videos on Pinterest. It is a website that posts little 12-15 minute workouts. I think I am going to get up a bit earlier and try to do one workout each morning. I would still go to the gym after work to get my cardio and weights in - but I just need something more. A kick start of some sort.
What do you do when you hit a weight loss plateau? Any favorite workouts? How did you lose the baby weight? Any specific workouts for c-section mamas?
And now for cute baby.....

Am I crazy?
This past weekend I spent a little time on Pinterest and started looking through ideas for Olivia's 1st birthday party! (Even though she just turned 5 months old!)
I asked the husband if he thought it was crazy and he said Yes.
I am just so excited!

5 Month Update!
My baby girl is getting so big! The past 5 months have just FLOWN by - I can hardly believe it!
Here are 5 things about 5 months!
1. Olivia is sitting on her own so well! She loves just sitting and playing. She will sit and bend over to reach for a toy and bring herself back upright.
2. She is still rolling over from her back to her front only. She has rolled accidentally a few times from her front to her back - she is trying really hard I think she will be doing it soon! When she is on her tummy she is either pushing her whole body up or doing the superman with her arms and legs back and her head up! She has starting getting up on her hands and knees and starts rocking back and forth. A couple times she has pushed herself forward but most of the time she is scooting backwards. She can move!
3. We started her on baby food! She has been eating baby oatmeal which she likes and eats really well. The other day we started her on sweet potatoes. She had a confused look on her face for the first bite but after that - she looked like she really enjoyed it! She ate everything I gave her!
4. Everything (and I mean everything!) goes straight in her mouth! The other day I had a cookie in my hand which she grabbed away from me and she stuck it in her mouth like she knew what she was doing! My little cookie monster! She grabs for everything and is great at picking up her toys and transferring them between her little hands.
5. My most favorite thing right now is waking her up in the morning. She usually likes to sleep in until about 8 but during the week I have to get her off to Daycare at 7 so we wake up about 6:30. It is so hard for her to wake up - she stretches and keeps her eyes closed for so long while I am getting her ready. My favorite thing is while she is waking up, and still has her eyes closed, I give her kisses on her cheeks and on her belly and she smiles every time! It is so cute - then when she wakes up and opens her eyes she has the biggest smiles for me! Love her!

Hello 2013!
2012 was an amazing, amazing year!
It definitely went by a little more quickly than I would have liked, but was a life-changer.
We welcomed our little one - OLIVIA! Life can not be better! She is amazing and I can't imagine life without her!
In 2012, I learned more about myself and how a person's heart can burst with love (I'd say that is a good year!)
I don't typically do 'resolutions' - but I do have some things I am going to focus on for 2013.
Maybe by writing them down I will be more accountable.
* Love on Olivia as much as possible!
* Take her to a baby swim class & take advantage of library story times
* Figure out a better way to organize and store her too small baby clothes and stuff she grows out of
(suggestions welcome!)
* Get back into shape. I haven't been in 'shape' for a long time now, probably since college.
Yeah, I workout but that doesn't necessarily mean I am in shape - believe me!
* Eat healthier meals. The husband and I do cook dinner every night but our choices aren't the best
(hello frozen pizza and chicken nuggets!)
* Learn how to Crochet!
* Finish some of the Shutterfly books I have started! Seriously, motivation needs to find me!

Happy New Year! What are your goals for 2013?
