Another nursery decorating project!
I had seen a ruler growth chart online - but if I wanted to purchase from the seller it would have cost over $100!
That is INSANE!
So instead I did a little searching on Etsy and found someone that sells the ruler vinyl ($12). I headed over to Lowes and picked up a 1x8x6 board and a small container of stain (black cherry - matches the rest of the furniture!) I also picked up a can of spray poly to seal the stain.
I stained the board and sprayed a couple coats of poly - let it sit for 2 weeks to make sure it was fully dry. I put the vinyl on last night - which was super easy. Now all that is left is to get it on the wall. I plan on putting a solid screw in the top and the bottom straight through to the wall. I want to make sure that it is secure to the wall so it doesn't have a chance to fall off the wall.
Overall - I love how it turned out! I think it will add a lot to her room!

Alphabet Print
When planning baby girls nursery, I knew that I wanted something with the alphabet on it included. After reading a blog (I forget which one) I saw a simple print in a frame that was used as decoration for a baby shower.
My crafty self said - I can do that! I created the print in Microsoft Word and printed it out in different pinks on a card stock. I then went to Kohls and was looking for a frame to fit. In their clearance section I found a maroon colored frame for $3. I thought that I could definitely paint it to match the 'Twinkle Twinkle' board I made earlier.
It took quite a few coats of pink paint but it is all finished! I just have to figure out where to put it (along with everything else!).

Awkward & Awesome Thursday!
Awkward:
* Finding my first stretch mark :( It is just a little one though - hopefully it will go away.
* Having one of my colleague's customers yell at me on the phone - and my pregnant self sort of putting her in her place. Pregnancy makes me a little mean and a lot more outspoken.
* Being kind of nervous for my Glucose test this morning - the awkward part is probably going to be how much I like the gross drink. Mainly because I am dying of thirst right now! I hate fasting.
Awesome:
* The pregnancy book that I am making on Shutterfly! It is awesome - they have it so you can customize each page... so much better than scrap booking. This WILL be how I document baby girls years!
* Hopefully finishing up on an artwork project for baby girl's room today!
* Participating in my first 5K next weekend! (I will be walking - but I am still excited!)
And that is seriously all this brain can remember....hopefully baby brain goes away after baby!
Make it a great day!

26 Weeks
Today I am 26 weeks pregnant.
Holy Moly (yes I actually say that quite often!)
It's just going by so fast. I'm at the tail end of my second trimester.
Which means third trimester is almost here.
Which means SHE is almost here.
SHE.
My little girl.
My sweet, tiny baby girl.
She weighs a little less than 2 pounds and measures 14 inches long - the length of an English Hothouse Cucumber (whatever that is).
But she certainly makes her presence known.
She kicks like crazy. She loves to camp out on the right side of my belly.
I love our time together. Sometimes I poke my belly and she'll kick me where I'm poking. It is like she is saying "Hi Mommy!"
We still have some stuff to do before she arrives - but things are coming together quickly.
14 weeks to go. WOW.

Baby Gifts
Made a couple tie onsies this afternoon for some friends who are having boys!
All I have left to do is stitch around the ties and they are ready to go! So cute! I do have one for baby girl in the making... pictures to come. Hers is a little more complicated!

Each baby boy will get a red tie and a blue tie! (possibly a bow tie - because they are so cute!)

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!
Awkward:
* Being at a business professional networking meeting and standing up to say something but forgetting the word for it.....
* Creepy guy that always comes into work. Enough said.
* Letting out a grunt every time I bend over. I have a feeling that is only going to get worse!
* The fact that it is getting a little difficult to tie my shoes. Guess that means baby is growing!
Awesome:
* Winning a game of Bezzerwizzer against two brainy guys! Take that pregnancy brain (I almost won the second game too! Go me!)
*Getting things in the mail...still riding high on that adorable crown I got yesterday. Seriously it is so tiny and cute.
* Getting fabric and onesies to complete some outfits for baby girl and for her two boy friends that will be born before and after her! Pictures to come!
* SUMMER! Can't wait until we go to our first Twins baseball game!

Mail Call!
Not sure if you know this or not...but I LOVE getting mail!
Received this bad boy in the mail today....
This is going to look so adorable for my baby girls first photo shoot! After the shoot I plan on using as decoration in her room! I got it from this amazing Etsy seller!
I also picked up this super cute jogging suit.... Size 6 months so hopefully it will fit for the winter. I got it from a local buy and sell group on Facebook - only worn once! Love it!

Twinkle Twinkle....
Project #1 for Baby Girl's Nursery
Saw the inspiration for this on Pinterest and just HAD to re-create it. I purchased the vinyl from a seller on Etsy, bought the board at Lowes and had them cut it to size, and the paint is a sample by Valspar (gotten from Lowes) it only cost 3 bucks! Win win!
I painted the board with a pink that matches the fabric purchased for the valance and crib skirt. After letting the paint dry for a couple days I applied the vinyl - which was super easy. Turned out great! Can't wait to hang it!

Baby Class
Baby class was good... watched a baby being born which was a little weird because the women was squatting. Husband decided there are just some things you can't 'un-see' - also that I am going to stay pregnant forever. Guess I should have prepped him a little :) Now he keeps telling everyone that they should show that video to kids - saying it is the best birth control! Oh I love him!
Registering = DONE! It was fun while it lasted but man was I exhausted when we got home.
Happy Monday!

Rain
{awesome print by Eloise Renouf}
Rainy Day.... makes me want to curl up on my couch with a good book and a big mug of hot chocolate.
Too bad it's Friday and I am at work... this would be a perfect lounging day!

Busy weekend...
So originally, this weekend was going to consist of relaxing.... cleaning around the house... being outside if it is nice... and registering for baby.
With one phone call and some searching on the internet our weekend got a little busier. I decided to look into the birthing classes we wanted to take (our hospital offers them). There were two choices - 2 Saturdays for 6 hours each or 2 Tuesdays and 2 Thursdays for 3 hours each. The during the week classes just wont work with our schedule so the Saturdays it had to be. The only time they had the Saturday classes were this Saturday and next Saturday!
I feel like it might be kind of early for baby classes but it really isn't. It will probably just scare the crap out of me and make me super nervous. Or it will make me super excited, or feel unprepared, or .... all of the above!
Here's to a busy weekend full of baby stuff!

Awkward & Awesome Thursday!
Awkward:
* Ordering a pair of cute wedges for an upcoming wedding, getting them in the mail, trying them on and almost falling off because they are so high! Next time - read the description....those got sent back.
* Running into people with my belly.
* Pregnancy Brain. Seriously. It is causing me to forget even the simplest things. The other day I was trying to come up with the word 'Golf Course' and instead could only think of 'Golf Station' which isn't even a thing (unless maybe somewhere there is a golf course with a gas station in it - then it would be a golf station!)
Awesome:
* My Nieces and Nephew - I just love them!
* Getting prepared to go to SD for one of my best friends weddings! ALSO getting to see my family that weekend! It has been too long.
* Pandora on my phone - at work. Sometimes it is the only way I can get anything done.
* Getting the fabric picked out for the crib skirt and valance in the nursery! My awesome MIL is making them for us! Now I can get to picking out paint for a couple projects I have.
* Registering for baby this weekend! Should be fun and tiring...hope the husband can bear through it (he actually did very well for our wedding registry)
Hope everyone is having a great Thursday!

24 Weeks
Baby Girl
I look forward to our quiet nights alone.
I look forward to your mini fingers and toes.
I look forward to your blinking eyes.
I look forward to your baby eyelashes.
I look forward to figuring out who you look like most.
But I especially look forward to learning about all the things that make you uniquely YOU.
24 weeks down - 16 to go. We can't wait to meet you!

Excited!
Yea! I LOVE getting things in the mail! It is such a rush - seriously.
Getting all the RSVP's back from my wedding was heaven.
Yesterday I got the dresser we ordered for the nursery in the mail (big mail is fun!). This past week I have also received some stuff I ordered off Etsy for a couple projects I have in mind. Don't worry I am so excited to get to those projects I will have them posted in no time.
I did get some shoes in the mail Saturday too - but those are going back. I am in my friends wedding back in South Dakota next month and needed some shoes. So smart me went ahead and ordered 4 1/2 inch wedges (outdoor wedding) NOT thinking about the fact that I will be 7 months pregnant and never wear heels in the first place. So back those went and on the way are a much more reasonable but just as cute wedge - hope they work! Now on the to-do list for that wedding....get the dress I ordered in October altered to fit this growing belly!

Leftover Peeps
Happy Easter! (Yesterday). We had a great Easter weekend with the family - but somehow ended up with a couple boxes of yellow Peeps which Dan loves but I don't really care for.
What? Are you judging me now for not loving marshmallow covered in sugar shaped like a bird! I can have one - but they are just too sweet for me. So I hopped on Pinterest and found some creative things to make with Peeps - all of which I plan on trying!
Chocolate covered Peeps
Hot chocolate with Peeps as marshmallows!
This one looks really good - Smores using Peeps! Who doesn't love smores?

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!
The weekend is almost here and what better way to celebrate it than an Awkward and Awesome Thursday!
I have been following Sydney at The Daybook for some time now and every Thursday I look forward to reading her A&A segment. So here goes!
Here is an awkward photo of Dan and I at a wedding last year!
AWKWARD:
* Ok, first of all, spelling awkward.... also the way that I try to say it in my head while I type but I still end up typing it incorrectly anyway. Thank goodness for spell check.
* Going on an 11 mile bike/run (I bike, husband runs) that lasts an hour and a half. That isn't the awkward part - it the forgetting that I am 5 months pregnant and about 2/3 of the way through realizing I have to pee.
* People asking me when my due date is and me just staring at them with a confused look on my face. I usually follow up with - so you think I am fat?! (Only to people that I know!) This is more awkward for them and hilarious for me!
AWESOME:
* My pink water bottle (that I take with me everywhere) has a tracking thing on the side so I can keep track of how much water I have drank throughout the day. VERY important with pregnancy brain!
* Getting the baby's room painted! Now for decorations!
* Speaking of the baby's room - ETSY! Finding (and ordering) so many awesome things from Etsy. Even better - getting them in the mail!
* This Chuck Norris Joke (who doesn't love a Chuck Norris joke?) Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding. I laughed very hard when I heard this one - so did the husband. Simple minds I tell ya.
* Speaking of Husband - love when he talks to my belly and gives baby kisses good night!

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing
Ever been sitting at work browsing Pinterest (for hours) thinking "Man I wish I would have won the Mega Millions so I wouldn't have to work and so all this sweet stuff I am pinning could really be mine."
Yeah that's me today.
Seriously how cool is this bookshelf?
Of course I would have to get a much bigger house so I could display this thing correctly! I can dream right?

My Pregnancy, thus far...
We starting trying and BAM! we were having a baby. We took the test towards the end of November and wanted to keep everything as hush hush as we could (we had just had a miscarriage in June (at eleven weeks) and had told everyone we were expecting-so on top of losing the baby we also had to deal with telling people - no fun!). We told Dan's parents so they would not question why I wasn't drinking over the holidays!
Everything went well from the get go. I was pretty nauseous for the first trimester - for a couple weeks I could only eat crackers - yuck. I also had a huge thing with smells. My super sniffer could smell everything. Which wasn't the best thing when it lead to extreme gagging. That gagging also happened when I brushed my teeth (which lead to a few trips to the toilet). Once I hit the second trimester it was like I was a whole new person! Actually being able to brush your teeth will do that to you.
We told our friends and our families - everyone is very excited. We have a set of friends that are due two weeks before us and a set of friends that are due two weeks after - so there will be LOTS of babies for our little GIRL to play with! That is right, we found out we are having a girl! Which brings us to present day. I am 23 weeks. Baby is the size of a mango. I can't quite fit into small spaces like I used to. I am so in love with my baby girl (even if she insists on kicking me as I fall asleep!)
Life is great.

This is me!
Why Hello! Welcome to my little world.... My name is Holly and I have a wonderful husband, Dan. We love playing sports, being active, making each other laugh, blah blah blah. We are expecting our first child this July - which lead me to start this blog. I am hoping it will be a place I can capture awesome (and not so awesome) memories - of our life, my pregnancy, and our babies. I have a TERRIBLE memory - so here's hoping I remember to post! So sit back and enjoy my randomness!
And for your viewing pleasure - here is a picture of Dan and I last winter.
